My Desperate Need

What do you see on television nowadays? To me, I see a bunch of ridiculous soap operas. Yikes! I hate it a lot. But what do you expect? One of my lecturers once said, “as long as the soap operas have high ratings, you will continually see those soap operas”. See? That’s what I mean, there’s nothing we can do now.
Last night, when I turned on TV and expect there would be something’s good on TV, I realize that is my desperate need! I always love watching TV, but this time I can’t bear it! I need a cable TV! I’ve begged for it a thousand times to my parents, but they won’t give me. They’re worried if I will turn on the TV more often than studying or doing my tasks since my room is equipped with a TV. I know it sucks, but perhaps I should wait till I get to work and receive my own income regularly so I can pay the fees myself. But, by then, hundreds of box-office movies would have been played in HBO and I would be totally blind of movies and stop being a movieaholic. Oh no!
In conclusion, all I can do now is just pray, pray that the media owners will open their eyes and start putting in qualified and educative programs on TV, or furthermore, since I’m now studying communication, including television media, I could pray that someday I would have my own TV station, so that I can put on TV whatever program I fancy! Yippie! But wait, that means I have to wait, like, 10 or 15 years? Oh God, perhaps I’ll just pray that my parents will buy me a cable TV because I need it so bad!
